I, too, should suggest to go for Mantid Monitors.
There are two very convenient places that offer lots of them in a small array:
1. Kinya Province outside Ran Musu gardens - those can be farmed with a 55hp N or Mo using SV (in order to kill them one by one and thus increase drop chances a little)
2. Wajjun Bazaar just outside Nahpui Quarter - those come in large groups and seem to be farmable with an Obsidian Flesh/Glyph of Swiftness Ele build.

Wow thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm testing out all of these places to see what is best... I was playing around with a Obsidian Flesh/Glyph of Swiftness/Sliver Armor ele in Wajjun and it worked the best so far. I had no luck with drops of tomes though but I came out with a handful of golds so it all balances out. Well, I guess that I will keep on farming there a bit more... Thanks!

I had some drop in the Snowmen dungeon with full party of hero/hench. Havent looked closely at the classes there, but may be worth a look.

tbh the easiest way to get monk tomes is to farm margonites in turais procession. as i farmed there a lot i got a stack of 150 monk tomes and also around 150 warrior , dervish and mesmer tomes and i made quite some money with selling them ^^ with the dervish tomes i tought my vish all skills during the elona tut :P and you get a lot golds there too

what build were you using, can't seem to overcome the healing enough to kill them in any reasonable time :/

Snowman dungeon guarantees you some monk tomes. I got one from the first 20 snowmen killed (about 30 seconds worth)

the Mantid Monitors in kinya province outside of Ran musu gardens drop monk tomes, and that place is easy as cake to farm in. I used a 55 monk with SS+ IP.

Anyone care to share an effective build for Saoshang Trail? I can't seem to overload the healing enough.
